Bringing Innovation to the Silage Wrap Market – With Area Manager Naomi Walters

Here at Agricentre, we are constantly looking at new products and thinking, and even with a “mature” category like silage wrap, we believe there are always improvements that can be made. One manufacturer which is bringing new thought and ideas to the market is Zeus crop packaging, and in 2015 we decided that their range represented the cost-effectiveness and quality that our customers demand.

One customer, dairy farmer Rob Targett of Somerset, has a system that demands performance and reliability in everything they use, and round bale wrap is no exception. The person responsible for the wrapping process is tractor driver Will Gardner.
“We operate a Kuhn SW 4004 IntelliWrap. It’s a fantastic machine but we’ve occasionally been frustrated by inconsistent performance of the plastic that we’ve used.”
Deciding to try Zeus Epic 5, Will was immediately impressed by the product.
“In use it was a bit unnerving as it’s so quiet on the reel. Much less noisy than some wraps that sound as if they are ripping in use.”
Epic 5 is guaranteed 5-layer, something that, during high-demand manufacturing periods, other brands struggle to match, switching to their 3-layer manufacturing lines.
“Zeus Epic 5 is above all consistent and reliable,”
says Will.
“It performs the same whether it’s bright sunshine or overcast, and can cope with all types of forage and bales types, whether it’s really tough and stemmy or not. We’ll definitely be using it next year.”
