Meet your local Arable Specialist, Charlie Dolphin
By Wynnstay Arable Team 13 days ago

Wynnstay’s Arable Specialist Charlie Dolphin is a familiar face to many of his Wynnstay customers.

This is because he regularly went out travelling with his dad, Peter Dolphin, when he was just a toddler, as Peter drove around the country working as a finance broker, selling farm machinery.

Peter was based in the West Midlands and the Kidderminster area is, by coincidence, the main hub of Charlie’s work for Wynnstay today.

Charlie believes that it was a natural progression to follow in his father’s footsteps and says he has farming in his blood from his grandparents, the late Tony Dilworth and his wife Jan, from Whitchurch.

Charlie studied Gamekeeping and Countryside Management for two years and then went on to graduate with a Foundation Degree in Agriculture at Harper Adams University in 2013.

After learning every aspect of farm work, working as a contractor in Kidderminster, Charlie took up a work placement as a crop walker and agronomist and realised that this was the occupation he wanted to pursue.

He joined Wynnstay in 2014 and now his work day starts early, with a spell of crop walking with his working cocker spaniel by his side. He then calls his customers and visits them on their farms.

Charlie’s specialities include: forage crops, maize and grassland. He loves country pursuits in his spare time too, running a small pheasant shoot. He also enjoys fishing and shooting.

Charlie covers the West Midlands, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire.
